2014

I discovered my love for block printmaking through the art of paper cutting. I’ve always been drawn to thinking through positive and negative space, one cut at a time. Using shape and line as the primary tool for visual communication, has caught my attention as a compelling way to create. This exhibit, shown at the Patterson Gallery on the Pennsylvania State University campus, combines paper cuts, block prints, and photographs. The compilation is influenced by my then recent artist residency at Green Olive Arts in Tetouan, Morocco and conceptually plays with growing into artistry, heritage, family dissonance, and unity.
